Novus Law School is the Graduate
and Undergraduate Law School of Novus University. Novus University is an
International Web-Based Private Postsecondary
Educational Institution. Novus University has no campus or resident
programs or locations or public facilities. The
School maintains Mail & Information and Internet
Centers Worldwide as needed for communications. All
mail and information facilities are for
communication services only. The Novus University communications centers, and are not
Campuses, Learning Centers, or open public
facilities. All Novus University Degrees are
awarded, Online via the World Wide Web (www), under
the Authority of The Novus University Board of
Directors as a Web-Based International School.
Novus University students come from many different
political, social, and religious systems. As a
Web-Based School Novus is NOT part of any Single
Geo-Political System, Nation, Social or Religious
System. Novus University is an OPEN School,
Multicultural, Non Political, Secular, and open to
individuals from all Cultures, Systems, Nations,
Religions and Political Systems. |

Certified Law
School Admission |
|
Novus University Applicants who meets minimum
educational requirements may be admitted within one of
Four (4) terms per calendar year. Novus University Admissions allows applicant certification for
admission by School interview and/or applicant
statement of education that they meet minimum pre-law
educational qualification requirements. A Certified
Applicant may register commence Law school within one of
Four (4) terms within a calendar year subject to
available teaching and administrative staff. All
Pre-Legal education must be verified by the applicant to
the law school within 120 days of registration.

Transfer
Credit |
|
Transfer credits from other law schools, including
credits that were earned in a non-traditional
manner, will be evaluated at the Office of
Admissions & Registration. Transfer credits will be
given for courses already completed with a minimum
(C) Average , and credits can be granted for
professional expertise acquired through law office
clerkship or work experience (minimum requirements
must be met). All questions pertaining to the
transfer of credits should be referred to the Office
of Admissions & Registration.

Program
Materials |
|
Novus University utilizes many different
authoritative sources for Core Law and Elective
Course completion: including but not limited to
professional manuals or texts, published research
papers, government generated manuals or documents,
School or college texts, Law library texts or
authoritative books, videos.
|
|
|
|
Suspensions |
|
Any student falling more than
thirty (30) days past due on any amounts due to the
School will be placed on suspension. While on
suspension, the student will not have any submitted
course work graded or returned, will not be able to
receive course materials, and will be denied all
rights and privileges of students of Novus University. When the student brings the account
current, the School will restore the student to
active status. If, within sixty (60) days following
the suspension for past-due amounts, the student has
still not brought the account current with Novus University, the student will be dismissed from the
School. Dismissed student who re-apply for
admission may, at the discretion of the School,
have their previous tuition payments applied to the
then-current tuition amounts due and payable.
Dismissed students who are re-admitted at a later
date will be subject to the academic requirements,
tuition, and other costs then in effect. |

Dismissal
|
|
Students may be dismissed for:
Failure to meet minimum program standards. Failure
to submit any course completion works to the
School for a period of six months, except in
cases where the student is taking an approved Leave
of Absence. Plagiarism or false statements with
respect to completion of course assignments.
Non-payment of any amounts due to the School
according to standards set forth under SUSPENSIONS. |

Program
Mentors |
|
Program Mentors are the advisors and tutors for the
duration of your program. Your assigned Mentor can
answer most program and administrative questions.
Your Program Mentor is the person who is responsible
for directing the grading of your papers, tests and
examinations, and is available to answer questions
you may have about your individual courses and
course work and is the Director of the examiner of
your individual/independent course work projects. In
most cases, you will communicate with your Mentor
and your Instructors via Internet e-mail and
telephone. The School employs NO full time
faculty and all grading is multiple choice, by peer
review or contract faculty.

Student
Records |
|
The School will maintain a file
on each student containing a record of academic
performance and appropriate supporting
documentation. The student file shall also contain
such information as is required for the completion
of the application process and graduation. All
student files will remain confidential and are
accessible only to a limited number of School
personnel. Student file information will not be
released to other parties without written
authorization from the student. |

Grading |
|
Novus University uses a 4.0 grading scale for the
assignment of quality points, as follows: A = 4.0
quality points B = 3.0 quality points C = 2.0
quality points D = 1.0 quality points F = 0 quality
points Courses for which a P (Pass) or NP (No Pass)
is given will not be assessed quality points; such
grades will not affect the student's GPA. A grade of
I is a provisional grade only. A grade of W is given
upon a student's withdrawal while passing a course.
At the undergraduate level: Grades of A, B, C, D,
and F will be assigned to each examination or
completed written assignment. Bachelor's Projects
and the Practicum are graded P (Pass) or NP (No
Pass) only. A grade of I will be given to any
assignment that the Faculty deems incomplete;
failure to eliminate the conditions of incomplete
work may result in the assignment of a failing
grade. Undergraduate students receiving less than a
D final grade for any course will be considered to
have received a less-than-satisfactory grade and
will be required to repeat the course through a
make-up examination or other remedial work as
determined by the Faculty to complete the course
satisfactorily. At the graduate level: Grades of A,
B, C, and F will be assigned to each examination or
completed written assignment. Master's Projects and
the Practicum are graded P (Pass) or NP (No Pass)
only. A grade of I will be given to any assignment
that the Faculty deems incomplete; failure to
eliminate the conditions of incomplete work may
result in the assignment of a failing grade.
Graduate students must complete each course with no
less than a C grade.

Time Requirements &
Continued Registration |
|
Programs at Novus University are self-paced, with
self paced being defined as follows: (a) there is no
classroom attendance required on a weekly or daily
basis; (b) Law School work can be submitted as
personal and professional commitments allow. Program
Mentors may be able to predict the approximate
amount of time that in necessary to complete the
program, but in a self-paced program, it is the
student who decides when the program goals will be
achieved. The Juris Doctor (JD) programs which are
24 Calendar months. If a student's degree program
has not been completed within the specified degree
term, tuition is charged on a month-to-month basis
in the amount of $175 per month. The extended
monthly tuition has been established to allow
students the flexibility to complete remaining
course requirements from month-to-month without
incurring the total tuition cost of the degree
program.

Tuition
for Degree Programs

|
The rate of tuition for each degree program includes
individualized curriculum design, course instruction,
Program Mentor and administrative counseling, student
manuals and text selection The tuition rate does not
include textbooks except through participation in the
Novus Lending Library Program or additional fees. |

|
Licenses and
Credentials |
|
Novus University's degree programs
are not designed to meet any particular local, state
or national licensing or credentialing laws, or to
meet any requirements established by any private,
independent professional associations. If licensing
is the objective of a degree program, students are
advised to check the standards of their particular
states, school districts, professional associations
and agencies for specific licensing requirements.

Specialized Practice or Certification |
|
The admission to specialized practice or certification
to practice before any city, state or federal
government Agency, Court, Tribunal, Commission or
Private or Professional Association is determined by
rules promulgated, by that city, state or federal
government Agency, Court, Tribunal, Commission, or
Private or Professional Association. Rules and
regulations concerning admission or certification
and/or qualification to practice should be obtained
directly from any entity to which the student may
intend seek admission or certification to practice.
Additional requirements, which may affect admissions
or certification, are: Pre-legal education, personal
character and reputation, citizenship, prior
criminal convictions, child support payments. Novus University applicants are advised to determine that
they meet all educational requirements, professional
or other requirements that may apply to them prior
Novus University admission Novus University does not
guarantee passing of admissions or certification
examinations. Novus University does not guarantee
qualification for admission to specialized practice
or certification to practice before any city, state
or federal government Agency, Court, Tribunal,
Commission or Private or Professional Association.

Admission to the Practice of Law |
|
Admission to the practice of law in the United States
of America is regulated by the State Bar Examiners.
Each State establishes its own requirements for bar
admission including pre-legal education, law school
approvals, and individual qualifications of the
candidate including moral qualification and fitness.
The majority of states require graduation from a Law
school accredited by the American Bar Association or
approved by the state bar, The American Bar
Association does not approve online or Distance
Education Schools or Programs. Seven (7) states
allow apprenticeship as a method for meeting all or
part of admission requirements. Novus will assist
Novus University Graduates who establish
apprenticeships programs with practicing licensed
attorneys, by providing law text selection
instruction and curriculum assistance, and by
providing law subject exam assistance for the
supervising attorney. Assistance is provided through
the Novus Apprenticeship Assistance Program. Novus University does not guarantee the success of a Law
apprenticeship or acceptance by any state bar of the
apprenticeships. Novus University does not supply
apprenticeship attorneys or guarantee the successful
completion of an apprenticeship program. Novus does
not guarantee that upon completion of an
apprenticeship, it will meet eligibility for any bar
admission. It is the obligation of the apprentice to
meet state bar regulation for the admission to
practice of law and it is the apprentices obligation
and responsibility to determine prior to
commencement of an Apprenticeship that the
apprenticeship meets all state bar requirements of
the state in which the apprentice is seeking
admission. Novus University is not approved by the
American Bar Association or any state bar committee
for the purpose of qualifying for bar admission. Novus University makes no claim,
representation, guarantee, or warranty concerning
the admission of practice and information provided
herein is not guaranteed, is subject to change or
modification by the state, without notice, and this
information is furnished as information ONLY, it is
the obligation of the individual or apprentice to
verify it.

Refunds &
Withdrawals |
|
Novus University will have earned the entire contract amount after the
student has been enrolled in the degree program for a period of 30 days. The
student is responsible for payment of any and all outstanding obligations to
the School.
Students who withdraw from the School must give
written notice,

stating the reason for withdrawal, If a student withdraws from a degree
program within thirty- (30) days of the enrollment date. A tuition
refund minus a processing fee of $300 and $100 registration fee will be
granted subject to a 30 day prorated schedule as of the balance as follows. .

No refund will be granted if the student’s request for withdrawal is
received more than 30 days after the enrollment date. The enrollment date is
the date the student’s registration is received and processed by the
registrar’s office.

Law School Textbook Lending Program |
|
|
|
Most law textbooks are provided through the Novus University lending library for all core courses in the
Juris Doctor program only and only to residents of The
United States or Canada. Specialized law texts may be
purchased from the School bookstore at School
rates. All law books borrowed from the law lending
library must be returned to Novus University upon completion of the law course subject,
termination or withdrawal from the School. Students
who fail to return textbooks will be charged the retail
price for the books. |

Tax Deductions
|
|
U.S. Treasury Regulation 1.162-6 permits an income tax
deduction for educational expenses such as books,
registration fees, and expenses needed to maintain or
improve your skills in your current profession, or to
meet job requirements of an employer or law enacted or
minimum professional requirement to retain your job
status, employment or rate of pay. Contact your tax
advisor concerning all tax deductions. |
