Law Tuition Rate Degree Term & Continuing Registration

Law school tuition is based on a program rate for the law degree term. Law school tuition is not charged on a semester, quarter, or course-by-course basis. Law tuition for each degree program includes individualized curriculum design, course instruction, program mentor and administrative counseling, student manuals and text selections. The Law School tuition rate does not include specialized law textbooks for the Juris Doctor (JD) or Corporate Executive Juris Doctor (CEJD) or Masters of Law (LLM) or Bachelor of Law (BSL) degree programs. Core law textbooks are provided in the Juris Doctor Program (JD), the Corporate Executive Juris Doctor (CEJD), the Master of Laws (LLM), and the Bachelor of Law (BSL) through the Novus Law School Lending Library.

The Law Degree Terms are as follows:

JD: Is either 3.5 academic years, (academic year constituting eight months) with one 4-month semester period/academic break off between each academic year OR 24 months Accelerated Completion with no semester period/academic break.

CEJD: Is either 2 academic years, (academic year constituting eight months) with one 4-month semester period/academic break off between each academic year OR 16 months accelerated completion with no semester period/academic break.

LLM: Is 1 calendar year, (calendar year consisting of 12 months) semester period/academic break not offered for this program.

BSL: Is 1 calendar year, (calendar year consisting of 12 months) semester period/academic break not offered for this program.

Students who are taking semester period/academic breaks of 4 months (semester) between years must notify the university 30 days prior to the 4-month (semester) off period and obtain an academic break form from Student Services.

In no event shall more than 12 months of study be allowed for completion of any Masters of Laws (LLM) and Bachelors of Law (BSL) program unless pre-approved in writing.

In no event shall more than 16 months of study be allowed for completion of the Corporate Executive Juris Doctor program unless pre-approved in writing.

In no event shall more than 24 months of study be allowed for completion of the Juris Doctor program unless pre-approved in writing.

If a student's degree program has not been completed within the specified degree term, tuition is charged on a month-to-month basis in the amount of $175 per month until the degree program is completed or Official Withdrawal is received.

The continuous monthly tuition has been established to allow students the flexibility to complete remaining course requirements from month-to-month without incurring the total tuition cost of the degree program. The continuous monthly tuition is only allowed after degree term has expired.

Programs at Novus Law School are self-paced, with self-paced being defined as follows: (a) there is no classroom attendance required on a weekly or daily basis; (b) academic work can be submitted as personal and professional commitments allow. Programs are required to be completed with the degree term time limit.

Program Mentors may be able to predict the approximate amount of time that is necessary to complete the program, but in a self-paced program it is the student who decides when the program goals will be achieved.
